The Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Mosque)
Sultanahmet Mosque is also known as Blue Mosque because of its dominant blue mosaics. This mosque is one of the most beautiful architectural examples of Islam. It was built between 1609 and 1616 by Mehmet Aga Sedefkar, student of the famous architect Sinan in the reign of Sultan Ahmet I. Historians agree that this building's 6 minarets are the perfect expression of Turkish islamic art.

The Hagia Sophia
Built on the first hill of Istanbul, this cathedral was the largest in the world between 532 and 1453. When Constantinople was conquered by the Ottoman Empire during the reign of Fatih Sultan Mehmet II, it was used as a mosque and up 'in 1931. Four years later, in 1935, President Ataturk reopened as a museum and today is the most famous museum of Istanbul.

Hippodrome
The Hippodrome was the heart of sporting, social and political events of Constantinople in the time of Byzantine Empire. It could hold up to 80,000 people. Today this place is called Sultanahmet square or Hippodrome. You will also see the German Fountain, the Egyptian obelisk, etc...

Topkapi Palace
Dazzling! It was the former residence of the Ottoman Sultans and political center of the Empire from the 15th to 19th century until it was moved to Dolmabahce Palace by the Sultan Abdulmecid in 1856.
In the museum, you will admire the treasures of the Ottoman Empire, the sacred relics of religious, sections of weapons and many other wonders, palace kitchens, etc...

The Grand Bazaar
You will lose yourself in this dazzling place. The oldest and largest covered bazaar in the world with its 66 aisles and 4000 stores next to each other...

This tour does not include lunch and ends around 17:00 at the Grand Bazaar.

Exclude:

- The lunch is not included in the price. Our guide will suggest you options for eating according to your budget and it will be on your charge.

- The price does not include transportation. If your hotel is in the center of the old town, we will not require transportation because the whole visit will be by walking. But if your hotel is a bit far, we will use a taxi or a tram to reach the center of the old town, and transportation costs will be at your charge. The tram costs € 1 per person for the ride; it's easy, fast and economic.

 

Please Note That:

- On Fridays, the Blue Mosque is closed until 14:30, and once it opens it can be very intense. Also sometimes it is so crowded that we cannot go there during the high touristic season. In this case, we will replace it with a visit to the mosque of Suleiman the Magnificent.

- Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays; Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays. If you want to visit on Tuesday, Topkapi Palace will be replaced with the visit of Dolmabahce Palace. On Sundays, the Grand Bazaar will be replaced with the Egyptian Bazaar.
